Planning

So….this is my second trip over to Europe, and I am extremely excited about it! My last trip to Europe was in 2006 and only two weeks. We covered a lot of ground in that time though- we spent time in Sölvesborg, Sweden; Brugge, Belgium; and Paris, France. That was defiantly a trip of a lifetime, but this summer I will be staying for almost eight weeks and cover a lot more territory!

As I mentioned in a previous post, I finally booked my flight! I am flying out of Pasco, WA on July 9, 2008. My flight takes me through Seattle, London, and then on to Hamburg, arriving the next day, July 10th. I have a rather large layover in London and plan to maybe hit the city if time allows.

When I get into Germany I will be staying with my friend Daniel (who I met my senior year in high school, he was a foreign exchange student to America). He has been over to the US twice now, this last summer he came back and stayed with me over his summer holiday. I am really excited to see how life will be over there. I am excited to experience all the different cultures. I think our plan for the summer is to have our own little “Euro Trip.”

I am still in the planning phase, trying to figure out my budget and what is the best way monetarily for me. (i.e. Should I exchange money in the US or Europe? Should I use my debit/credit card? What is the “exchange charge?”)
I can’t believe how excited I am already and there is still several months to go!
